Pixel Just Got Better: AI Video & Screen Reactions Arrive

Get ready to experience your Google Pixel devices in a whole new light! The highly anticipated June Pixel Drop is here, packed with a fantastic suite of new features designed to make your daily interactions more creative, productive, and secure. From groundbreaking AI-powered tools to enhanced multitasking and essential safety updates, this release truly elevates the Pixel experience.

These exciting additions are rolling out to eligible Pixel phones and devices starting today and will continue over the next few weeks. Prepare to discover innovative ways to create content, communicate effortlessly, and enjoy greater peace of mind, all powered by Google’s latest advancements.

Unleash Your Creativity with AI-Powered Features

Ever wished you could easily add your reactions to a screen recording without jumping between multiple apps? Now, with the new Screen reactions feature, a Pixel-first experience, you can seamlessly integrate your selfie video directly into your screen recordings. It’s like having your own portable green screen, perfect for creating dynamic content.

Whether you’re crafting a social media reaction video or putting together a personalized, step-by-step tutorial, Screen reactions makes the process effortless. Simply swipe down twice on your Quick Settings menu, select the recording icon, and toggle “Show selfie camera” before you start. You’ll maintain full real-time control over your screen while your front-facing camera captures your expressions, allowing you to tap, drag, and resize your selfie window on the fly.

But the creative enhancements don’t stop there. Gemini Omni on Pixel now empowers you to easily create and edit videos, transforming your ideas into high-quality productions. It’s as intuitive as having a natural conversation with Gemini, blending text, images, and video from your camera roll, or even starting from a pre-made template. You can even generate a custom AI avatar that looks and sounds like you, then drop yourself right into the action!

For aspiring musicians and audio enthusiasts, Gemini on your Pixel introduces powerful music generation capabilities. Just describe an idea or upload a photo, and Gemini will transform it into an original, high-quality audio track complete with lyrics. You have full creative control, prompting Gemini with your desired style, vocals, and tempo to craft truly unique compositions. To begin your musical journey, simply open the Gemini app, tap the tools menu, and select “Create music.”

Boost Your Productivity and Connectivity

Jumping back and forth between apps can interrupt your workflow, but not anymore. We’re making multitasking smoother and more customizable by giving you the power to transform any app into a compact, floating window. Just long-press any app icon on your phone to convert it into a bubble that conveniently floats on top of other applications.

On devices like the Pixel 10 Pro Fold, these bubbles are even more streamlined, docking into a dedicated bubble bar at the bottom of your screen. This allows for effortless switching between apps with a single tap, making it ideal for travel, work, or following tutorials without missing a beat.

Communication across language barriers is also becoming simpler with the expansion of Voice Translate to Pixel 10a. This advanced feature provides real-time, speech-to-speech translation during your phone calls, allowing you to understand and be understood in different languages using the sound of the caller’s voice. Currently, Voice Translate on Pixel 10a supports translations between English and German, Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese, and Hindi (in preview).

To enable this powerful tool, open the Phone by Google app, navigate to Settings, tap Voice Translate, and download your preferred language models. Additionally, staying connected is easier than ever as Quick Share now works with AirDrop on Pixel 8a and 9a, bridging the gap between Android and iOS devices for seamless file sharing.

Enhanced Safety, Communication, and Photo Editing

We’re also enhancing your favorite messaging apps. In the coming weeks, Magic Cue will seamlessly integrate into your Snapchat conversations, providing contextual and time-saving suggestions right when you need them. This makes it easier than ever to keep your favorite chats flowing and respond efficiently.

For call management, our innovative Take a Message feature, which provides real-time text transcripts of voicemails and AI-generated next steps, is now expanding to even more markets. Plus, we’re introducing Custom Greetings, allowing you to record a personalized outgoing audio message. Your callers will enjoy a much warmer, personalized experience, while you still receive a convenient real-time transcription of their message.

In India, Manual Call Screen is now available on Pixel phones, offering a smart way to handle unknown numbers. When an unfamiliar call comes in, simply tap “Screen call,” and Google’s Call Assist will politely ask the caller to state their name and reason for calling, protecting you from unwanted interruptions.

Your safety remains a top priority, which is why we’re integrating Emergency Sharing directly into our core Emergency Detection features. This means if your Pixel detects a severe car crash, a hard fall, or a loss of pulse, it will not only contact emergency services but also automatically notify your chosen emergency contacts. You have full control, allowing you to customize who gets notified by toggling Emergency Contacts on or off for each specific detection type in your settings, providing an added layer of reassurance for you and your loved ones.

Finally, perfecting your photos has never been more intuitive. Edit with Ask Photos is now available in Google Photos on Pixel phones in the U.K., Germany, France, Spain, and Italy. Powered by Gemini models, Ask Photos empowers you to quickly touch up a photo or undertake complex, multi-step edits simply by having a natural conversation with your Pixel. Imagine saying, “make it better,” or requesting multiple changes like “remove the reflections and fix the washed out colors,” and watching your Pixel respond with stunning results.

These updates truly underscore Google’s commitment to making your Pixel device an indispensable tool for creativity, productivity, and personal safety. Be sure to check your device settings over the coming weeks to explore all these incredible new features firsthand!
